30 black and white photographs, machine-numbered on verso, each in paper cover with printed caption. Original thick paper chemise with pochoir title on front cover, original cloth portfolio illustrated by pochoir after a design by Picasso.
The first edition of this collaborative artists’ book of photo-collages by Picasso and Villers. It was Picasso who gave Villers his first Rolleiflex camera, and the two men conducted playful experiments with light, exposure, and photographic chemicals. Diurnes combines Viller’s photographs of the Provence landscape with cut-outs by Picasso, accompanied by the poetry of their friend Jacques Prevert. No. 141 of 900 from an edition of 1000.

Miquel Gaspar was one of the owners of the Sala Gaspar, that was an official representative de Picasso in Spain and a personal friend of the artist.

This poster was designed by Toni Miserachs, who used as the main motif a humorous composition measuring 35.6 x 26 cm, a portrait of Jaume Sabartés (Picasso's secretary and friend since adolescence) with a pin-up girl, on which the picture was depicted in color photo engraving and ink on December 4, 1957.

This original lithograph poster was edited for the Pablo Picasso's exhibition of paintings at the Sala Gaspar. It was the first painting exhibition he made in Spain since the Civil War and marks Picasso's return to Spain. The exhibition, consisting of 30 oil paintings never exhibited before the painter selected and sent from Paris, became a cultural, social and political issue.

The poster was made to publicise an exhibition of Picasso’s drawings held at Sala Gaspar’s gallery in Barcelona in April 1961. Neither this poster nor it’s motif has been reproduced in other posters.

Portrait photography signed and decicated to his friend the bullfighter “El Minuni”. “Para mi querido Minuni, su padre. Picasso el 22.7.55.
Francisco Reina, 'El Minuni', was born in Tomares, near Seville, in 1910. Although he later on in life moved to the same street in Barcelona where Picasso was working, they had first met in Arles where Minuni, a successful bullfighter, was performing in the arena. The two became close friends, Picasso often referring to him as "mi hijo".
This work is from an edition of unknown size.
In overal good condition except for some defects. The paper is slightly wavy and there are small wrinkled surface tears and also a small loss in the center of the top edge. In some places the paper is raised so possibly not stuck down.
